India dominating the ODI Format
Furthermore, India has displayed consistent form in the ODI format since 2024, winning all their series at home and putting up tough fights against opponents away. They have achieved victories over South Africa (3-0), New Zealand (2-1), West Indies (3-0), and Ireland (3-0) since June 2024. These wins have earned them crucial points, putting them close to England in the ODI rankings, with both teams on 127 points. However, England has played three matches fewer, which keeps India in third place. The reigning World Champions, Australia, currently hold the top spot with 167 points and appear unlikely to relinquish it anytime soon.
On the other hand, the West Indies suffered a significant setback, dropping 10 points after failing to qualify for the ICC Women’s World Cup. New Zealand and South Africa maintain their fourth and fifth positions in the rankings, respectively, despite New Zealand losing 4 points and South Africa losing 9 points in recent results.
