Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant got back to some form in the last league match, playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season. It seems the southpaw has carried that form to London, as he brought the Lord's roof down with a monstrous six off the bowling of off-spinner Washington Sundar during the team's training session at the Lord's Cricket Stadium.
In a typical Pant way, he bought his patent slog sweep and ended up breaking the roof of the training at the Mecca of Cricket Ground. The wicketkeeper-batter is one of the key batters and the most experienced batters, more so with the Test retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The southpaw also has a good record in UK conditions, having scored two centuries. In the nine Tests that he played in London, Pant has scored 556 runs at an average of 32.70.

Rishabh Pant gears up for the blockbuster England Test series in a blistering fashion
With Pant showing glimpses of returning to form, it sure will be worrying signs for Ben Stokes & Co. The southpaw's favorite format is the Test format, and he loves to take the attack to the opposition. Like Adam Gilchrist used to dominate for Australia at number seven, Pant has the license from the management to go for the kill from ball one. If he gets going, then within a blink of an eye, the game can change in India's favor.

Also, with the additional responsibility of the vice-captain to the young team, the wicketkeeper-batter would be eager to make a statement in the upcoming England series. Shubman Gill & Co. will play an intra-squad match starting on June 13 against India A ahead of the first Test match against England, starting on June 20. India A recently played two Tests against England Lions, which ended in draws. KL Rahul, Karun Nair, and Dhruv Jurel impressed by batting well.
