The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Monday, July 07, Sanjog Gupta as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will officially take charge from today, becoming just the seventh ever person to hold the prestigious and elite post. Gupta has loads of experience and comes across as a well-respected figure in the Indian sports and media ecosystem.
Before the ICC CEO appointment, he was CEO of Sports & Live Experiences at JioStar. With over a solid two decades of experience across content planning & operations, he has been highly rated and credited for shaping the face of the modern sports broadcast landscape in India. Over the years, Jio has been the numero uno destination for sports in India, and Gupta has had a huge say in making India a global powerhouse in cricket when it comes to broadcasting.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah was super ecstatic and welcomed Gupta's appointment, describing him as a highly inspirational figure in the media sector, with proven experience.

"Sanjog brings extensive experience in sports strategy and commercialization, which will be invaluable for the ICC," Shah said. Sanjog Gupta gets a coveted job among lot of aspiring applicants
For the unversed, Gupta got the prestigious ICC CEO post by pipping close to 2,500 applicants from 25 countries. After rigorous and multiple rounds of shortlisting, the ICC Nominations Committee, comprising Imran Khawaja, Richard Thompson, Shammi Silva, and Devajit Saikia unanimously zeroed in Gupta to take charge as the seventh ICC CEO.

"These are exciting times for the sport as marquee events grow in stature, commercial avenues widen, and opportunities such as the women's game scale in popularity," Gupta said. "Cricket's inclusion in the LA28 Olympics and rapid technological advances present game-changing possibilities.
