Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Friday, June 06, announced the Test squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. The two African nations will play two Tests, starting on June 28 at the Queen's Sports Club Cricket Ground in Bulawayo. The second Test will begin on July 6 and will be played at the same venue. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Dewald Brevis is in contention to make his Test debut.

The youngster has been in a rich vein of form in 2025, starting from the SA20 League for MI Cape Town (MICT) to the IPL for CSK. Although Brevis missed out on selection in the Proteas' upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final squad, he is likely to be handed a debut cap against Zimbabwe. For the Zim Test series, South Africa have given six WTC squad members Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, and Dane Paterson rest. It is also highly likely, Paterson he will retire from Tests after the WTC Final against Australia at Lord's, starting June 11 to 15.
