Indian Women's team all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who is known to be pretty low profile is in the news for off field matters rather than on field matters. The southpaw, who is also DSP has accused fellow women's player Arushi Goel of duping her of over INR 25 Lakh. Not only that, but Deepti has also accused of the fellow player of breaking into her Agra flat to steal valuables, which included costly gold and silver ornaments.
Arushi, who was approached by police for her statement, has declined to speak on the charges leveled by Deepti. Arushi, who also represents the same state team as Deepti - UP, is also a junior clerk with Indian Railways in Agra division. She also plays for the same franchise as the all-rounder in WPL - UP Warriorz.

Deepti Sharma's brother Sumit opens up about fraud faced by the all-rounder
ACP (Agra Sardar), Sukanya Sharma, said, "Deepti's brother Sumit Sharma approached Sardar police station with complaint. Prima facie, we found some truth in the complaint filed an FIR under BNS section (305) (a) theft, 331 (3) (house breaking), 316 (2) (criminal breach of trust) and 352 (insulting someone with the intent to provoke a breach of peace.)."
The FIR also said: "The two cricketers became very close over the years through their association in the same team. Then, Arushi and her parents started exploiting Deepti Sharma financially, citing family emergencies and financial issues."
Deepti's brother further added in his complaint. "My sister lost over INR 25 Lakhs in the two years. When she confronted Arushi, the latter refused to return the amount."
The complaint also stated that Arushi broke into Deepti Sharma's Agra flat on April 22, replaced the original door lock with a brand new one, and fled away with jewelry as well as cash over INR 2 Lakh.
