Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians (MI) lost to Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Monday, May 26 to finish fourth on the points table. They finished the season with 16 points with eight wins and six losses.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings as of now, are topping the points table with 19 points with 19 points from 14 games with nine wins and four losses. Shreyas Iyer has led PBKS to an IPL playoff after a decade.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians seem to be slowing down after getting a place in the final four. Rohit Sharma scored 24 runs off 21 deliveries against Punjab Kings but failed to kick on after a good start. So far this season, the former MI skipper has scored 329 runs from 13 matches with three fifty-plus scores.

PBKS won against MI in the very first meeting this season. Both these teams might make it to the IPL 2025 final as well, scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad on June 3. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal, who missed the match against MI with an injury met Rohit Sharma after the match.
Whenever Chahal meets Rohit on the cricket field, it has to be a moment filled with laughter and full of jokes. Same was how this meeting went. As soon as Chahal walked upto Rohit, he asked the cameraman not to record the leggie. "Arey isko mat recording kar," Rohit said.

Meanwhile, Chahal is all set to be available for the IPL playoffs after missing a couple of matches due to injury. He missed the match against DC and MI as PBKS used Harpreet Brar who came up with decent outings.
Ahead of the IPL playoffs, former Indian cricketer Atul Wassan has targeted Rohit Sharma, saying that might be disinterested in scoring for MI and lacks a certain motivation to score. His comments have been backed by the way he has thrown away his wicket after having decent starts.
'He seems to be a bit disinterested; the motivation, the fire in the belly, has satiated. He has won almost everything, from winning the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy to retiring from Test cricket. Hence, to motivate yourself to play at this level of cricket every day is a very tough task. A player needs to have some sort of aim in the future; it could be the longevity and the legacy" Wassan said about Rohit Sharma.
MI To Play IPL 2025 Eliminator
MI would hope that the former skipper comes back to form ahead of the playoffs. MI are set to play the Eliminator in Mullanpur on May 30, either against GT or RCB, based on the result of the LSG vs RCB game.
