West Indies Announce ODI Squad vs Ireland: Shai Hope Leads, Brandon King and Evin Lewis Retained

Shai Hope to lead West Indies

West Indies has announced its squad to face Ireland in a three-match ODI series. This will be their first major series since their victory against Bangladesh, and they will later go on to face England in another three-match ODI series with the same squad. Their Ireland tour will take place from May 29 to June 3, 2025.

Darren Sammy announced the squad at an official press conference, emphasizing that his team has performed well in the past, having defeated Bangladesh and England in home series. He sees this new squad as an opportunity to build towards the 2027 World Cup.

"These matches are a critical component in preparation for the 2027 World Cup, and there are signs of the team establishing consistency following our series sweep against Bangladesh and the win over England last year," Sammy stated.
